Water Water Water

Everyone has heard that it's good to drink water. There are lots of benefits to staying hydrated, especially when you are trying to lose weight. How much water do you need? This varies, but a good estimate is to take your weigh in pounds and divide by two. This is the number of ounces you need to drink. So if you weight 150 pounds, drink 75 ounces of water, then increase if you exercise vigorously or if it is hot outside. How you say, am I going to drink that much??? It's really not that hard. Here are some tips.
  1. Keep a bottle of water at your desk so it is always there
  2. Aim to drink 8 to 16 ounces before each meal
  3. Carry your water bottle with you everywhere
  4. Start your day with a glass
  5. Add lemon or lime if you want some flavor
  6. Vary the temperature to what is comfortable
  7. Make a bet with the person who sits next to you about who can drink the right amount for the most days in a row
  8. Get a giant mug with a straw that you need to finish before going home each day (or maybe twice!)
Many of you have been complaining about water retention and being puffy. The best way to combat this is with MORE water.
